Getting started
What is Zefily?
How Zefily manages your servers, and what stays yours.
Zefily is a control panel for servers you own. You keep your provider, your servers and your data; Zefily installs a small agent on each server and gives your team one place to run sites, deploy code, take backups and keep everything secure and up to date.
How it fits together
- The panel (app.zefily.com) is where you and your team work.
- The agent runs on each server. It connects out to Zefily over an encrypted, mutually authenticated connection, so nothing on your server listens for the panel.
- Jobs are the changes the panel asks a server to make: create a site, install PHP, restart a service. Every job is signed twice and checked by the agent before it runs.
What you can run
| Workload | How it runs |
|---|---|
| WordPress and PHP | PHP-FPM 7.4–8.5 (8.5 by default), one pool and Linux user per site |
| Node.js | Managed systemd services (Node 22–26) |
| Python | gunicorn or uvicorn under systemd (Python 3.12–3.14) |
| Containers | Rootless Podman, Dockerfiles and Compose stacks |
| Static sites | Served directly by the web server |
In front of every site sits nginx or OpenLiteSpeed with HTTPS that renews on the server itself.
Your server keeps working
If the panel is unreachable, your sites keep serving traffic and certificates keep renewing. You can also leave at any time: ejecting a server removes the agent and leaves a standard, working stack behind.
