HTTPS and certificates

Turn on HTTPS from the site's General pane. Zefily requests a free certificate and redirects HTTP to HTTPS.

Certificate authorities#

• Let's Encrypt (default) and ZeroSSL issue free certificates.
• Custom certificate: upload your own chain and key; Zefily reminds you before it expires.

Validation#

• HTTP-01 works when the domain already points to the server and port 80 is reachable.
• DNS-01 works behind proxies such as Cloudflare and for wildcard domains. Connect a DNS account under Settings → DNS and select it in the site's validation setting.

Renewal#

Certificates renew on the server itself, well before they expire. Renewal does not depend on the panel being reachable.
