Getting started
Connect a server
Install the agent with one command or create a server at your cloud provider.
You can connect any server you already have, or let Zefily create one at a cloud provider for you.
Any server
- In the panel, open Servers → Add server and give the server a name.
- Choose the web stack to install afterwards (nginx or OpenLiteSpeed with PHP 8.5), or none.
- Copy the install command and run it on the server as a user with
sudo.
The command downloads the installer, checks its SHA-256 fingerprint before running it, verifies the signed agent release and enrolls the server with a one-time token:
curl -fsSL https://dl.zefily.com/install.sh -o zefily-install.sh \
&& echo "<fingerprint> zefily-install.sh" | sha256sum -c - \
&& sudo sh zefily-install.sh --token <one-time-token>
The token works once and expires after a short time. If it expired, create a new one from the server page.
At a cloud provider
Connect your provider account under Settings → Cloud providers (Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS). Then choose Servers → Add server → Cloud provider, pick a region and size, and Zefily creates the server and installs the agent through cloud-init.
After enrollment
The server shows up as Online within a minute. Zefily then runs the baseline setup: time sync, swap, journald limits, kernel hardening, automatic security updates, SSH hardening and the default firewall. See Supported systems for requirements.
